What this download contains
The table is derived from products represented in the source MRL export. It is not necessarily a complete food taxonomy, and it does not provide nutrition, composition or product-market data. The hierarchy should retain the publisher’s meaning rather than being rebuilt from assumptions about product names.
Working with this edition
Use the documented product identifier when linking the reference table to MRL records. Check parent-child relationships in the sample and preserve the source codes for reproducible joins. Filtering these files locally does not require a hosted search service.

Is every possible food category included?
Not necessarily. Categories without representation in the underlying MRL export can be absent.
Can I join this to the MRL dataset?
Use the shared identifiers documented in the schemas and verify their compatibility for the relevant editions.
